Job Description

The Inclusive Health and Wellbeing Hub (IHWH) is dedicated to accommodating diversity and ensuring people experiencing disadvantage in Brisbane have access to quality physical, dental, mental health and wellness and holistic healthcare services irrespective of their ability to pay.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Reception and Administration Worker to join our Inclusive Health and Wellness Hub (IHWH) team. This role is integral to the successful operation and administration of the IHWH, providing high-quality reception and administrative support to ensure seamless service delivery.

This is a permanent full time employment opportunity with conditions and salary at Level 4 of the SCHADS Award.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional reception services, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls, assist with appointments, and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Register new individuals and update contact details of existing patients.
  • Schedule appointments and manage bookings for GPs and Allied Health services.
  • Support the IHWH team with general administrative tasks, including IT systems administration, document processing, and data entry.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all patient information.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and reporting to meet accreditation standards.
  • Engage and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant certificate or diploma qualification with extensive experience, or a combination of experience, expertise, and competence.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in administration and/or reception roles, specifically within a medical practice.
  • Proficiency in using Best Practice patient management system and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapid rapport.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to child and vulnerable adult safeguarding principles.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work flexibly and proactively in a team environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Medicare billing and claiming processes.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit or community-based organization.
