Job Description
The Supportive Housing – Hope Street team is based at Brisbane Common Ground and delivers support through a Housing First model. Each element of supportive housing, from building to support service design, aims to create the greatest degree of empowerment and independence for people. The onsite team works alongside tenants to sustain and maintain stable housing, coordinate support needs, assist tenants to set and achieve goals, and build the support systems needed to live independently.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Service Coordinator to provide direct planned support to tenants, support staff, and assist the Team Leader in managing the daily operations of the team. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide case management, coordinate tenant support, foster positive stakeholder relationships, and contribute to a safe, respectful and trauma informed environment that promotes housing stability and independence.
This is a full-time employment opportunity at Level 6 of the SCHADS Award.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct support and individual case management to tenants of Brisbane Common Ground
Engage with tenants at Concierge, in common areas and within their units as part of a multidisciplinary team
Support the Team Leader with reporting, rostering and day-to-day service delivery, including acting in their absence
Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with tenants, stakeholders and community services
Support team wellbeing, communication and safe workplace practices
Essential Criteria
Relevant certificate, diploma or tertiary qualification in community services and/or extensive experience, or a combination of experience, expertise and competence
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge and use of IT systems including case management systems, data collection and Microsoft products
Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and child and vulnerable adult safeguarding principles
Ability to work flexibly, adaptively and proactively within a team environment and autonomously within program guidelines
Commitment to the values and principles of Micah Projects and safe workplace practices
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience as a senior member of a team, preferably in a residential setting
Previous experience working with participants experiencing homelessness, alcohol and other drug use, and/or mental health challenges
Experience working within a Housing First or supportive housing environment
