Micah Projects is a community based not-for-profit organisation with a vision to create justice and respond to injustice at the personal, social, and structural levels in church, government, business, and society. We believe that every child and adult has the right to a home, an income, healthcare, education, safety, dignity, and connection with their community of choice. Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.

Job Description

Lead an exciting new program that is reshaping how families are supported through stable housing, safety and pathways to stronger futures for children.

The Supportive Housing for Families program at Edmondstone Street provides stable, affordable and safe housing for families with young children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and involvement with the child protection system. The program delivers a site-based supportive housing model, offering 18 units of housing with integrated, on-site support. This program combines property and tenancy management with multidisciplinary support services, delivered in partnership with a community housing provider. Support is provided through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, with a focus on sustaining tenancies, strengthening family functioning and improving outcomes for children.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to lead the Keeping Families Together and Supportive Housing Edmondstone Street teams, providing leadership, coordination and consistency in the planning, delivery and evaluation of services in line with Micah Projects Strategic Plan. The role works closely with families, multidisciplinary teams, Common Ground Queensland and key community stakeholders to support proactive, flexible and responsive service delivery that promotes housing stability, family wellbeing, safety and connection to community.

This is meaningful work that plays a direct role in supporting families to remain safely housed, strengthen family functioning and create stronger futures for children.

This is a full-time employment opportunity at Level 6 of the SCHADS Award.
