Job Description

Wellsprings Children and Families Hub – Director/ECT – Early Childhood Program.

If you are passionate about providing child centred, trauma-responsive care, and are willing to grow as a professional, we have an opportunity for you.

We are seeking a ECT qualified Director for our Early Years Services within Micah Projects’ Wellsprings Children and Families Hub at Hawthorne. This position will provide a new opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and knowledge further within a dynamic model of support for children and families. The Director will support a team of child and family practitioners (Educators) in operating our services 5 days per week, including a 3 day per week limited hours early learning program, onsite and outreach supportive playgroups for families and children engaged with Micah Projects.

This is a full time employment opportunity until June 2027 at Level 5 of the SCHADS Award.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of Early Years Referral and Intake Documentation, including providing oversight and management of enrolment and bookings
  • Plan and implement therapeutic programs for the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children in the centre
  • Coordinate and support staff, emergency staff and volunteers and ensure effective participation and input into team meetings
  • Ensure children are offered a safe, supervised, hygienic, responsive, supportive, educational, play-based environment with sensitivity to their unique life experiences at all times

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education/Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and the capacity to operate the service in line with the Education and Care Services Act and Regulations 2013, as well as any other standards, frameworks and codes of practice relating to the provision of child care services in Queensland.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and deliver a high quality, flexible program for multi- aged children based on Queensland Guidelines under an Out of Scope License.
