Job Description

The Inclusive Health and Wellness Hub is seeking an RN with experience in General Practice for treatment room work for vulnerable populations. 

The Inclusive Health and Wellness Hub is a general practice and wellness clinic that is dedicated to accommodating people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in Brisbane. The aim is to ensure access to quality physical, dental, mental health and holistic healthcare services. 

This is a part-time position for 3 days a week 

Pay rate is commensurate with RN experience. Conditions of Nurses Award 2020, paid in line with the QLD Nurses and Midwives EB11 agreement.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria: 

  • Current, unrestricted AHPRA registration 
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an RN in general practice
  • Immunisation endorsement
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Best Practice software 
  • Current CPR certification 
  • Covid modules for Covid Immunisation certificate
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Evidence of vaccines for Australian Healthcare workers
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner 
  • Experience and a good understanding of the general practice and the treatment room environment 
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Vaccine administration and management of vaccines and cold chain
  • Post vaccination observations and monitoring
  • Triaging patients and prioritisation of emergency situations
  • Assisting GPs with minor procedures (incl iron infusions)
  • Wound dressings and removal of sutures
  • Health education and coaching to support patients with achieving their goals
  • Coordination, management and maintenance of patient clinical data
  • Maintaining a Recall and Reminder System 
  • Assist the GPs with conducting health assessments, GP management plans and reviews, supporting the CDM nurse
  • Diagnostics - ECG, spirometry, observations for monitoring
  • Ear irrigation
  • Stock control and supplies
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Contribute to RACGP accreditation standards

Desirable:

  • Competence in venepuncture
  • Experience in AOD and mental health
